Limit the Suffering with NuMetrex Heart Rate Monitor

Mar 24, 2008

Jessica Gumkowski, an endurance athlete from Boulder, Colorado, regularly tests the limits of her mind and body whether she’s racing or training. Her motto is to “always limit the suffering.” That means wearing well-fitted shoes, an outfit that is comfortable, and plenty of sunscreen.

“I’ve been quite successful in my limit-the-suffering campaign in all but one area, heart rate monitor strap,” says Gumkowski. “I wear my heart rate monitor anywhere from 10-20 hours a week. For the past four years I have experienced my skin being rubbed raw and pain across my rib cage from the pressure of the strap. This was one piece that I could never figure out and one that I was having a hard time accepting.”

Gumkowski opened a recent issue of Her Sports magazine and saw an ad for NuMetrex heart rate monitoring apparel. “I knew instinctively that this would be my answer,” she recalls. “I have the polar transmitter, Numetrex fabric strap and sports bra. These products have completely obliterated any issues I had with the discomfort of my heart rate monitor strap and helped me to once again limit the suffering so I can concentrate on the journey ahead. Thanks NuMetrex, your products are a no brainer for me.”
