New NuMetrex Transmitter is More Accurate, Comfortable, and Works With Most Analog Heart Rate Monitor WatchesNov 12, 2007
The new transmitter snaps into a tiny pocket in our sports bras, tanks and cardio shirts, where it receives the heart rate signal from the comfortable textile sensors located across the chest band area. The data is then transmitted to your watch or exercise machine which displays a read-out of the heart rate. Unlike other transmitters on the market, the NuMetrex transmitter was developed to work with soft, stretchable textile sensors, rather than the hard plastic electrodes found on conventional heart rate monitor chest straps. “When it comes to heart rate monitoring, comfort and accuracy can work against each other. Fabric sensors stretch and move with the body which makes them super comfortable but potentially confusing to other existing transmitters,” explains lead developer Brian Wheeler. The new transmitter smartly sorts through the feedback to provide the most accurate data possible. It is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably against the sternum without rubbing. The NuMetrex system is compatible with most analog heart rate monitor watches including Polar, Nike, Reebok, Oregon Scientific, New Balance, Highgear and Accumen models, as well as gym-quality treadmills and elliptical machines.
